APPLICATION FOR MYBRAIN 2.0 IS NOW OPENED - APPLY FOR PHD/MASTER STUDY

 ðŸ“Œ What is MyBrain 2.0?

MyBrain 2.0 is a scholarship / education sponsorship program offered by the Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia (MOHE) to support Malaysians in pursuing postgraduate studies at the Master’s and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) levels in local Higher Education Institutions. It is a continuation of the earlier MyBrain15 program.

📌 Who is eligible to apply?

The program is open to:

✔ Malaysian citizens who are unemployed or do not have a fixed income, and
✔ Selected private university lecturers.

📌 Priority Fields of Study

Priority is given to fields such as:

• STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics)
• Selected Social Sciences and Professional Arts disciplines

📌 Scholarship / Sponsorship Benefits

✔ Tuition fees are covered up to a specified maximum rate (RM2,300 per semester for Master’s, RM3,750 per semester for PhD).
✔ The scholarship provides a living allowance throughout the study period (amount and terms vary according to status and current guidelines).
✔ The main objective of this sponsorship is to cultivate highly capable research talent and enhance graduates’ career development.

📌 Program Objectives

✔ To develop high-caliber research talent.
✔ To support career advancement, graduate employability, and improved quality of life.
✔ To increase high-impact research outcomes for society, communities, and the nation.

📌 How & When to Apply

👉 Applications are submitted online through the official MyBrain 2.0 system (as stated in the poster).
👉 The application window opens during specific periods each session (please refer to the official announcement for the current year).
👉 Don’t miss this opportunity — applications open only once a year.
👉 Prepare your university offer letter, research proposal, and academic documents to strengthen your chances of being awarded the sponsorship.

Best Paper Award at ICE4CT 2022

I have presented my research paper entitled "Neural Network based Transmission Line Fault Classifier and Locator using Sequence Values" at 4th International Conference on Emerging Electrical Energy, Electronics and Computing Technologies 2022. May paper has been selected as one of Best Paper for the conference.

Attended PECON 2018

Assalamualaikum..

I had presented a paper at IEEE International Conference on Power and Energy (PECON 2018) which was held at Kuala Lumpur from 3-4th December 2018.

My paper titled "Wide-Area Fault Location for Power Transmission Network using Reactance Based Method". Hopefully, I could send a paper for 2019 at the same conference.

Fault Resistance of the Fault Arc

Source: Jianping Wang, ABB, 2013-06-14 KTH

Arc which developed at the transmission line during fault occurrence can be due to an object very near to the line or due to lightning which make the fault current to jump to the transmission tower (earth). This arc representing an equivalent value of fault resistance, Rf. This Rf value is depends on the arc length and fault current. The longer the arc length, the higher the Rf while the higher the fault current the lower the fault resistance as shown by the equation in the figure above.

The value of Rf can affects the accuracy of fault locating device and also the protection relay which uses the impedance based method (such as distance relay). For impedance based method relay, Rf can affects the accuracy of the relay in determining the tripping signal decision especially for fault near to the setting of zone reach.

Presenter - PEOCO 2012

Done presenting my research paper titled "Effective Two-terminal Single Line to Ground Fault Location Algorithm" during 2012 IEEE International Power Engineering and Optimization (PEOCO) conference at Malacca, Malaysia.

Below is my presentation slide.
